:Welcome to Western Maine IAABO Board 21 

 Interested in Becoming an IAABO 21 Member? 

We are now offering an online course for anyone interested in becoming a member of IAABO, the greatest basketball officiating organization in the world!  Our online course which is hosted by our National office, consists of eight (8) video lessons aimed at preparing you to successfully complete the IAABO applicant exam. While passing the exam does not assure that you will be an outstanding official, rules knowledge is one of the most important attributes of all successful officials. The cost of the course is $50. Upon successful completion of the course and exam you will be eligible to join IAABO Board 21.

Officiating Rates 2022 - 2023


2 person varsity $82.00    Crew of 3 varsity $70.00 

JV/Frosh    $61.50

 

Mileage allowance $.45 per mile for all miles traveled. 

  If an official rides with another official more than 100 miles (round trip), the following

3-tier rider fee will be utilized:

                    100-125 miles                 $20.00

                    126-150 miles                 $25.00

                    151+ miles                      $30.00

Officials would be paid for any miles that they must drive to a central meeting point.   No mileage will be paid for round trips for ten miles or less.  Please try to ride with your partner if possible.

Fall Business Meeting Sunday November 6th following the above Council Clinic.

IAABO Test -  Sunday November 27th.  Test will be online, time frame and details are not out at this time.

Test Review and Preseason Feedback Clinic  Sunday December 4th 7 PM via Zoom

For Maine the following is what is available:

Uniforms: The default uniform will be a Black and White uniform with 1 inch stripes with a flag placed on the back just below neckline with gold trim.  Gray uniforms may still be used if all members of a crew agree.  Otherwise, Black and White uniforms shall be used.  

Jackets:  The jacket will continue to be optional for crews beginning in pre-season through the end of the regular season.  The Jackets should only be worn if all members of a crew have them available.
